Our Salmon and STEElHEAD lineup is no less than you'd expect from a rod company born and bred in the heart of salmon and steelhead country. We'd be willing to bet that our employees have (per capita) caught more SAlMON and steelhead than any rod company in the world. Heck, Gary loomis himself has caught more salmon and steelhead than just about any company in the world. Our EXPERIENCE has helped us create the finest salmon and steelhead rods in the industry. No matter what type of water you fish, we make a great rod for every technique. With that said, we'd like to introduce our new line of FlOAT RODS. Designed to fish jigs and baits with tough structure-filled holding water in mind. Extra long for easier line mending and added hook setting power, these are the UlTIMATE rods for extending your drift in even the most technical waters. Our two new Backbounce rods are both 8' in length for optimal control. These rods have a much lighter feel paired up with a new Alconite guide configuration and improved actions. You will be able to bounce all day and not need to ice your arm all night. The new SABBR963C is for bouncing the lighter leads needed when fish are holding in slower currents. The tip still has that backbounce action but can handle weights in the 1 to 3 ounce range. Both rods allow you to keep in constant contact with the bottom therefore keeping your bait in the strike zone longer, resulting in more hookups. Dropping a bait rig to the bottom and slowly feeding line out as you bounce it back toward the fish in the middle of their holding water forces them to react and that' s why bacbouncing is so effective. This rod is made to fish smaller rivers & streams where there' s not as much heavy water and you don' t need as much weight to keep your bait in the zone. The key element is sensitivity and this rod will tell you right away if there' s something "fishy" happening at the end of your line.
